Susan Sarandon Bio
It was 1968. Democratic Convention and there was a casting need for a movie that featured many parts for young people who interrupted it. Joe (1970) was auditioned in New York by two recent Catholic University graduates. Chris Sarandon, who had studied to be an actor, was not selected by the casting committee. His wife Susan was given the opportunity to play in the film as Susan Compton. Susan Compton is the daughter of Bill Compton (Dennis Patrick). Dad Bill kills Susan’s drug dealer boyfriend. Next, Joe (Peter Boyle) as a bigot, who works on an assembly line and is a collector of guns, is a friend to Susan. Five years later, Sarandon creates the movie. Janet is a transvestite who gets involved with the mysterious Dr. Frank n Furter (1975). Sarandon fought for Annie in Bull Durham (1988) more than 15 year after her debut. She took a flight on her own from Rome, Italy from Italy to Los Angeles. "It was a great script ... and was able to dispel many myths and changed the American definition of success" she stated. "I attended the film studio along together with Kevin Costner and shook hands with his hot assistants prior to getting back on the plane. Tim Robbins (1988), her Bull Durham supporting actor, had already produced two sons by the year 1992 that put Sarandon in a position in which she was able to leave her home and be able to take on more challenging roles. It was the result of four Academy Award nominations in 1990s, and best actress for Dead Man Walking (1995). Her first Academy Award nomination was for Louis Malle's Atlantic City (1980).
